SELF CONFIDENCE

The kids involved in our program are generally kids who are confident themselves. Working through Our program and the belt ranking system gives our kids measurable goals to follow that are realistic to attain. The sense of accomplishment the kids feel by mastering a new technique or graduating to a new belt follows them everywhere they go.

RESPECT

GB Jiu Jitsu are all about respect. Pinning, throwing and locking are all secondary to the respect that is shown form the moment you walk into our dojo. Our kids learn respect to the masters who came before them, and to their current instructors. They also learn to treat other students as they wish to be treated. Our quality martial arts instructors press upon the respect issue regularly and instruct our students to practice respect for self, parents, teachers and peers at every opportunity.

SELF DISCIPLINE

Our Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing program for kids help instill mental focus in our kids, giving them the ability to concentrate on a task and see it through to its conclusion. The discipline that is taught our dojo in regard to uniforms, customs and techniques and the GB Doho etiquette often translates into other areas of life, including school and household chores.

SELF DEFENSE

The ability to defend yourself against an assailant is an empowering feeling. Jiu Jitsu is the most effective self system in the world in Gracie Barra Downers Grove self defense as a cornerstone of our entire program. The precise methods are safe and precise our kids learn to defend themselves in a variety of different ways. We teach our kids street-smart techs to help them to talk their way out of a bully avoiding problems altogether.

FITNESS

Fitness is a crucial element to all our martial arts classes, especially where kids are involved. Warmups with jumping jacks, pushups and stretches are common, and the movements . As they progress in the ranks there is a constant challenge to their muscles and cardiovascular system, we have countless cases where our teachings have been used assisting physical therapy on kids with physical and mental disabilities with some miraclous results many of our kids being toned, flexible and physically fit, all the parents have to do is to enroll them and start observing all the benefits within months.
