Gracie Barra School Supports York Township Food Pantry

(L-R) York Township Supervisor John W. Valle and Andrea Beckham

On January 6, 2017 Andrea Beckham, representing The Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School located at 130 Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove, delivered a generous donation of non-perishable food items to York Township Supervisor John W. Valle. The items were the results of a food drive done by the students in the school and will be used to replenish the shelves of the York Township Food Pantry.
The aim of Gracie Barra Downers Grove is to replicate the legendary Gracie Barra School in Rio de Janeiro using Jiu-Jitsu as a social tool to bring people and families together. The school is committed to preparing students to face any challenge that life might present to them.
Supervisor Valle said, “On behalf of all of us here at Township Hall I want to thank the students and faculty of Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Downers Grove for their kind and generous donation. We are proud to have them as a partner in the fight against hunger in our community.”

Stay tuned for the future promotions supporting  our local community.
